Turn chaos into form.
I work across portraiture, illustration, painting, and surrealism. I follow an idea, test it with my hands, and let the work tell me what it needs next.
CHAOS → FORM
LOST SOUL ART· SAN FRANCISCO
I’m Roberto Cisneros. I built Lost Soul Art around making work from the complicated parts of being human. I paint portraits, explore surreal worlds, and create in public so you can follow the process—not just see the finished piece.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lost Soul Art took shape in 2021, after years of trying to find my footing and a way to turn lived experience into something meaningful. My path has included ballet, homelessness, addiction, recovery, and rebuilding. I’m not sharing that as a polished success story; it’s part of the life I’m still working through, and part of why making art matters to me.
I work across portraiture, illustration, painting, and surrealism. I follow an idea, test it with my hands, and let the work tell me what it needs next.
CHAOS → FORMI’m drawn to the uncomfortable, the strange, and the overlooked. I want to make room for the parts of life that can be messy, funny, painful, beautiful, or all of those at once.
San Francisco is part of my practice. I’ve spent more than a decade creating in public, including around the Castro and 18th Street, where conversations and chance encounters become part of the day.
I share my process through public painting and live broadcasts. You’ll see experiments, decisions, mistakes, and unfinished work—not just a carefully edited highlight reel.

These are different parts of the same practice: making images that carry a story, building surreal worlds, and bringing art into everyday spaces. The strongest way to show you what I do is through the actual work.
↗Personal portraits that hold more than a likeness — character, emotion, and the details that make someone unmistakably themselves.
↗Custom portraits celebrating the personalities, quirks, and bonds that make our animal companions unforgettable.
↗Expressive imagery built around symbolism, imagination, and stories that live between the lines.
↗Custom interior murals and themed artwork for homes and businesses. We’ll shape the concept around the space, the people who use it, and what you want it to feel like.
↗Ongoing visual worlds exploring transformation, psychology, identity, and the strange beauty of being human.
↗The Castro has seen me come full circle. I’ve spent many days living in this neighborhood, not just painting here. People here have witnessed different chapters of my life, the struggle, the changes, and the artist I’m becoming. When I paint in the Castro, I’m sharing that journey with a community that has seen it unfold.
THE ARTISTIC JOURNEY
Lost Soul Art is still becoming. I’m documenting the work as I go—the things I learn, the directions I change, and the art I haven’t figured out yet.
I began building Lost Soul Art as a home for my artwork, ideas, and continuing artistic transformation.
For more than a decade, public painting has been part of how I create, connect with people, and support my practice.
Today I share the process through live broadcasts, commissions, collections, and the work still waiting to be made.
The second piece in The Red Kingdom has sold for $1,000. This collector milestone marks an original work from Roberto Cisneros’s surrealist story entering a private collection.
THE STUDIO ISN’T JUST A ROOM
I paint in public and share the process through live broadcasts. Follow the experiments, the decisions, the mistakes, and the moments when a piece finally finds its direction.
Watch + learnIN PUBLIC / ON AIR / IN PROGRESS
This space is for real public painting, live broadcasts, and creative learning. I’ll add formal talks, awards, and other credentials only when there’s something specific and verifiable to share.
Creating in public and letting people experience artwork as it develops, with conversation and chance encounters part of the process.
Sharing the real decisions behind drawing, painting, composition, symbolism, and the development of each piece.
